Bergstrom is a well-known name in Neenah and the Bergstrom family has greatly contributed to the development of our city. The family was originally involved in the stove-making business. Their business dealings expanded into paper-making and car dealerships. Family members are also known for their generosity in making Neenah and Menasha a wonderful place to live.

Charles B. Clark
Clark was a U.S congressman. He entered the Union Army on August 11, 1862, and served through the end of the war. He served as the mayor of Neenah, Wisconsin from 1880-1883 before he was elected to represent Wisconsin's 6th district in the United States House of Representatives. He served from 1887 until he died in 1891.

Effie Waller Smith
She was one of the greatest African American poets in the early 20th century. She published her first book of poetry, "Songs of the Month", in 1904. In 1909, she published two more books of poetry, "Rhymes of the Cumberland" and "Rosemary and Pansies." Her last work appeared in Harper's magazine in 1917. After she moved to Wisconsin, she never wrote poetry again.
